There is always the possibility of salvation.

There is no erasing our current situation, no matter how glorious or miserable it may be; our current life is already there before us, as the hand we are forced to play. The most we can do is try to work with the situation as we find it—and every moment, no matter how dull or horrible, has its possibilities.

Heidegger Explained, Graham Harman

You have to turn towards life, no matter what it is

You don’t get a say in what comes up in your day to day.

It’s tempting to shrink away from whatever is coming up now, to hide away somewhere other than where you are. Maybe you fantasise about sunsets and puppies and chocolate ice cream, or maybe you just scroll twitter. Whatever.

It’s all a way from shrinking from the here and now.

Which is absolute madness!

You only get one here and now. You only have one run through life. There is no plan B!

Your finitude is a curse, and the gift of life is slipping away.

You have to be a yes sayer.

But you do get a say in how you respond to life.

You do get to choose how you will be in regards to life. Don’t let the facts have the final say on your attitude to the gift of life. This is the only choice you will have.

And you get this choice moment after moment, day after day.

You’re thrown into a world with other people and they effect your life, and there’s not much you can do about it.

The only choice you have is how to respond!

You have to choose life.

Don’t say ‘no’ to life: because that’s a resentful choice. It’s as if life isn’t good enough for you, that you don’t like the package deal.

In reality you aren’t good enough for life

There’s always the possibility of working with life

There’s always something you can work with.

Our attitude to the present isn’t empirical, it’s spiritual. It can’t be settled by a adding up everything good and subtracting everything bad in our lives.

Don’t make your attitude conditional on what actually arises. Don’t let the facts have the final say.

There’s always the possibility of transformation in the ‘now’ of life.

You have to accept what God throws your way. Work with God and His grace.

You can’t be resentful of the challenges that come up

You always have the possibility of salvation, in every moment.
